I stopped blogging back in April, but have decided to dip my toe in the shallow end and see what happens. Friday while looking for a used copy of Joseph Conrad's Chance (recommended by Amy) at Bibliohead on Gough, I picked up a circa 1923 edition of Cyrano de Bergerac with a lovely French inscription that concluded with "Adoringly yours, Dad." Then met Nicki for a quick tour of the Rose & Radish gallery before dinner at Momi Toby's Revolution Cafe and the annual Squaw Valley Poetry Benefit. Sadly, Robert Hass had to cancel at the last minute so the event wasn't quite as wonderful as usual, although some of his poems were beautifully read by Sharon Olds. On Saturday, Gavin and I went for an enchanting morning hike with cottontail and jack rabbits (no choreographed singing or dancing, unfortunately) and stopped by Filoli Estate and Gardens for lunch. Later that evening Nicki and I saw Feist's performance at the Greek Theatre.
