The latest biography on my favorite dead president, Joshua Wolf Shenk's Lincoln's Melancholy: How Depression Challenged a President and Feuled His Greatness, received positive reviews from both The New Yorker (couldn't find the article online) and New York Magazine. The New Yorker article quotes Lincoln's thoughts on Claudius's "Oh, my offense is rank..." speech in Hamlet. Here is an article detailing Lincoln's conversations on the subject.
