On Friday night Nicki and Chris came over for a night of champagne, gossip, and good food. I never experiment with a dish before I try it out on my friends--I'm just not that organized. Luckily, the Cacao & Zucchini Absorption Pasta from blogger Clotilde's Chocolate & Zucchini cookbook worked like an absolute charm. It's a simple recipe (an absolutely necessity for me when I have company in the kitchen while I'm cooking), but still appropriately decadent because of the special guest stars, the Dagoba organic cacao nibs. Possibly more on the gossip later--I've been storing up a rant that relates to an ongoing story in the blog-o-sphere but haven't decided whether or not I want to post it.
P.S. I've got a new crush on an old flame. I'm rereading The Wings of the Dove and it's even better than that long ago first time. You know, because I'm so much more worldly and wise now.

I know what you mean about this. When I read Madame Bovary for the first time in high school, I simply didn't get what all the fuss was about. When I re-read it again a few years ago, it really struck a chord and I think I've read it three or four times since.
