Erica Jong: “If you write about the bedroom, the kitchen, childrearing, a wedding, it’s presumed to be trivial. Now you can write well or badly about any subject... It seems to me that women writers are always ghettoized one way or another." Just listened to the rest of Ed's interview with Jong where they discuss the categorization of books by female authors (including May Queen contributor Jennifer Weiner) as "Chick Lit."  Good stuff.
